Do you think discrimination against Gays is not a bad as people try to make it out to be?

Is it a bunch of people that want to feel like the victim and not the victor that continue beating a dead horse the only ones that feel like them being Gay is stopping them from getting further in life? The reason I ask is the majority of people i meet that are straight are friendly. I don't know if its a front they put on until I leave then talk behind my back or something, but I haven't had many bad encounters with people over my being an feminine out Gay man. Actually people feel less threatened in the world and love Gay men especially straight women from my dealings.
