Clip in hair extensions and airport security?

I'm flying to Scotland tonight but I'm making a stop at London's airport. Have you ever gone through the airport security wearing clip in hair extensions? Were they detected? I really want to wear them at the airport but I'm afraid the metallic clips will set off the detector. Please answer me!
